sorry for the delay fellas! well it starts with me spending the first three days of my deer season with my dad on a special draw that he had, but when there was little too no action i thought it was a waste that i had taken all week off of work. i thought i would take a break from his hunt to do a little myself. i didnt see much for deer, but i did come across a high country spot that had tons of fresh bear sign where the berries were still hangin like grapes. so that night i went back up there to sit untill dark and that big boy popped out of the timber about 45mins before dark and about 700 yrds away. i had to do some sneaking as fast as i could to get within 220 yrds and with a 140 grain winchester balistic silver tip out of the 7mm it went right dead center thru his left shoulder and out behind his right! anyone that says balistic tip bullets are no good, i call crazy! he only went 40 ft and died! he weighed 225 hangin so im guessin about 300 live weight, my biggest bear to date!

so i went back to hunting with my dad and had much of the same result for the next two days. so a couple of my buddies and i decided to go up to a high country spot that lewy and i have shot some nice bucks in the past on fri. it was blowin and raining sideways with the fog rolling in and out, but the deer were movin. we had seen 5 deer by about 8 or so, and the next three does that i spotted just happened to have that buck with em all rutted up. they started movin so my buddy ranged him at 230 below us and facing away, so i just layed on the ground and broke his back between the shoulder blades! one more for a kill shot and i had my biggest blacktail to date! he weighed 210 hangin and he felt all of that when we had to drag him up hill for about a hundred yrds! so thats the story, within three days i had my biggest bear and buck, pretty good week in my book!
